Some products are amazingly difficult to buy without packaging these days. When you look at the shelves in a store’s soap aisle, all of the unnecessary boxes and plastic wrap can seem overwhelming to someone trying to create less waste. It is wonderful if you can make your own soap or find locally made bars, as this could solve the packaging dilemma, but this isn’t the case for everyone. If not, don’ t fret. Sappo Hill makes wonderful vegetable soaps which are sold in stores package-free and the only waste is a small bar code sticker. I’m partial to the aloe vera variety (see photo). I’m not saying this is the only soap company making an effort to create less waste, but when I see a good thing, I want to pass it along.
